AICD ensures education option for directors

AS PUBLIC scrutiny of the performance of company directors grows, their need for education rises.

The public are already demanding greater accountability from company directors – especially after the fallout from the heady 1980s.

Public companies are now required by law to publish the remuneration of their top directors and executives.

The Australian Institute of Company Directors runs the Company Directors’ course which aims to increase directors’ knowledge and experience. It also aims to help the directors increase the performance of their boards and companies.

The course has actually been running for twenty-four years and is offered in a ten module form.

The AICD is the peak body for directors offering board level professional development, director-specific information services and representation of directors’ interests to government and others.

It has more than 14,000 members drawn from industry, commerce, the professions, government and non-profit organisations.
