Perth-based car dealer network Automotive Holdings Group has moved to strengthen its Victorian presence, snapping up a Melbourne-based Ford dealer for $2 million.

AHG announced today it had acquired Coffey Ford, which sales and service centres in Dandenong, Noble Park and Hallam.

AHG managing director Bronte Howson said the acquisition was part of the company’s ambitions to grow its Victorian footprint.

“We acquired Ferntree Gully Toyota in 2010 and Jeff Wignall Group earlier this year,” Mr Howson said.

“We are also working with Holden and other manufacturers to establish an new auto hub and service centre in South Melbourne.

“The purchase of Coffey Ford is a good fit with these facilities and will give us a total of 15 dealer points/service centres stretching from the Melbourne CBD through the south east corridor and Mornington Peninsula.”
