THE Australian Federal Police has confirmed it is investigating copper miner Anvil Mining over an October 2004 incident in the Democratic Republic of Congo that left a number of people dead, in which Anvil is alleged to have been implicated.Perth - based Anvil has stated that it has not been contacted by the AFP. In June, law firm Slater and Gordon said it wrote to the agency on behalf of human rights organisations wanting an Australian government investigation into the company’s actions in the country.
