A glimpse of ‘ground zero’

WESTERN Australians will be the first in Australia to view poignant photographs of the September 11 terrorists attacks.

The exhibition, After September 11: Images from Ground Zero, features a series of colour photographs by director of the Museum of New York, Joel Meyerowitz, and short emotive statements from American’s politicians.

Mr Meyerowitz has been the only photographer granted unimpeded access to the site since September 13 last year and, in his work, has captured the intensity, emotion, and destruction of the attacks with crisp clarity.

The exhibition will be officially opened by City of Perth Lord Mayor Peter Natrass at Council House.

The public can view the exhibition at Council House from Friday May 17 to May 31 from 10am to 2pm.

The exhibition will then head to Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra.
