Property manager Hawaiian has announced it will commence with a $45 million refurbishment of the Parmelia Hilton Perth in December.
The hotel last underwent major renovations in 1999 with minor refurbishments taking place between 2012 and 2015.
The newly announced work, which is scheduled for completion in September next year, will include a renovation of the lobby, guestrooms and bathrooms, as well as the addition of an executive lounge, a possible connection to neighbouring Brookfield Place, and increase in the hotel’s room inventory from 284 to 309.
ADCO Constructions has been engaged for the redevelopment.
“It is very exciting to be refurbishing a hotel that has made such a significant contribution to the growth and development of Perth over many years,” he said.
Chief executive Russell Gibbs said he was excited to refurbish what he called an icon of Perth’s CBD due to its location and business-focused amenities.
“The refurbishment will reflect the changing needs of the modern traveller, ensuring the Parmelia Hilton continues to offer visitors to Perth a comfortable and modern hotel in a convenient city location,” he said.
The hotel will remain open and operational throughout the refurbishment.
