Troy Hayden joined Woodside Petroleum in 1996 and has held a range of treasury ositions for the company, most recently as the treasurer.
In his role as acting chief financial officer, Mr Hayden’s key responsibility is to manage Woodside’s financial position, including its internal and external reporting and financial risk management. He is also accountable for the areas of taxation, accounting, portfolio and planning, treasury and investor relations.
Mr Hayden’s achievements at Woodside include restructuring the company’s funding strategy from a single syndicated loan to a series of bilateral facilities where the terms, conditions and prices can be individually negotiated. He was influential in initiating Woodside’s successful entry to the US capital markets, and instrumental in establishing funding for three large-scale (more than $US1.5 billion) corporate merger and acquisition activities. Mr Hayden has been part of the Army Reserve for 12 years, where he has reached the rank of captain, and his service includes training at the Royal Military College, Duntroon. In 1999 he was awarded the Peter Stuckey Mitchell Army Reserve Officer Excellence Award.
Mr Hayden was responsible for developing Woodside’s Awesome Art youth program, which was a finalist in the 2002 Australian Business Arts Foundation National Awards. He has also initiated a leadership development program for Woodside’s high-potential employees in the finance division. My Hayden holds a bachelor of economics and a master of finance (banking).
