Equipped with solid finance and investment experience from five years with Hartley Poynton Ltd, Anthony Maslin placed his faith in a great business concept of manufacturing and distributing solar powered water pumps.
In 1999 he co-founded Solar Energy Systems Ltd. A year later Mr Maslin raised $5 million for the IPO of SES and has since overseen company turnover growth from $100,000 to more than $2 million.
Last year, SES launched a consulting and project management business for sustainable water and power solutions, which has completed jobs in East Timor, the Solomon Islands and throughout Australia.
Also in 2003, SES attracted feasibility funding from the world’s oldest ethical bank – Triodos Bank – for a feasibility study into selling water from solar-powered decentralised water supply systems to communities in the Maldives. SES also negotiated a MOU with Chinese company Sino West Assets Group.
SES has received numerous accolades, including the Ethical Investor’s national ‘Sustainable Small Company of the Year’ award for 2003.
