Dr Paul Watt’s research discoveries at the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research laboratories have resulted in the formation of the institute’s first spin-off company, Phylogica.
Dr Watt is also the inventor of the Funhaler, an asthma medication device for children. Dr Watt was intent on commercialising his products and raised venture capital and secured grants to form Infamed. The newly formed company grabbed the attention of ASX-listed Xcel Diagnostics, which purchased Infamed and its patents. Dr Watt is a director of both Xcell Diagnostics and Infamed.
