The kitchenware business is known for its top-brand kitchen homewares, providing fit-outs to several of Oceanfast’s vessels, while Price Savers specialises in discount souvenirs and consumables. Blackbird director John Macaulay is president of the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce.

OVER the past 14 years the Merenda family has grown Homestyle Vegetable Processors from a $300-a-week business to a ready-made food business enjoying an annual turnover of about $11 million.
The Munster-based business is a leading supplier of fresh processed fruit, vegetables, mayonnaise, dressings and salads in Western Australia.
West Coast Office Equipment
ESTABLISHED 17 years ago, West Coast Office Equipment has expanded its business machine retail operation to include the production and sales of stationery products.
The business was started by Murray Westlund, who identified a gap in the market for selling and servicing quality business machines such as photocopiers, facsimiles and laser printers. Sons Troy, Darryn and Todd join Mr Westlund and his wife, Jackie, in the business.
Charlies Fresh Food Market
CHARLIES Fresh Food Market imports quality continental gourmet foods, which form a large section of its retail outlet in Morley. Aside from its food market and delicatessen operation, the business caters to outside functions.
Charlie Tricoli and his wife, Rose, established the business in 1967. Their three sons Sam, Mel, and Michael are now involved in its management and daily operation.
Fotek School Portraits WA
FOTEK School Portraits WA is a school photography company servicing schools from Kalamunda to Esperance. Deirdre, Les and Natalie Veal established the company over a decade ago with the aim to become Western Australia’s number one school photographer. The company photographs 800 schools a year.
John Garland International
SPECIALISING in the sales of up-market, unique or unusual property and businesses, John Garland International was established in 1965. The company has negotiated the sale of a broad range of properties, from cattle stations in the north of the State to wineries in the Great Southern. The company was initially known as John Garland and Co, which, under John Garland, grew to a staff of 25 and was purchased by a public company in 1986. He continued to operate the practice as John Garland International.
The Hyde Park Hotel
ESTABLISHED by the Higgins family to provide the best services in the hospitality industry, The Hyde Park hotel has become one of WA’s icon pubs.
Established in 1979 by Athol Higgins, who at 68 remains the managing director, the hotel includes two bars, a drive-through liquor outlet, one betting facility, one restaurant and one banquet venue. Mr Higgins’ son Paul is heavily involved in the business, as is his wife, Joanne, and his mother Geraldine.

Martins Trailer Parts
MARTIN’S Trailers Parts manufactures and sells wholesale and retail components for the light trailer industry. Established in 1963 the company has grown to employ 27 people and has three distribution sites in WA.
Peter Martin formed the company under the name of Martin Motor, which grew to become Martins Trailer Parts in 1972.
