$2.6b injury pain

INJURIES cost Australia $2.6 billion annually, or 8.3 per cent of the recurrent health expenditure, a recent conference has been told.

Department of Health and Ageing Population Health Division first assistant secretary Ross O’Donoughue said only a national injury prevention plan that encouraged partnerships between government and non-government agencies would help solve the problem.
