A new $21 million oil and gas training facility has been opened in Henderson by the Federal and State Governments.
WA Education and Training Minister Mark McGowan said the Australian Centre for Energy and Process Training (ACEPT) was an Australian first, which will provide benefits to all of the country's key industries.
"ACEPT links directly with companies in the oil and gas, and chemical and minerals production industries, so these companies can send staff for training at the new centre," Mr McGowan said.
Currently with 250 students enrolled and with an expectation of 2,500 students to pass through the centre over the next few years, Mr McGowan highlighted the importance of the facility in the future.
"With the demand for resources and minerals personnel at a high, the development of ACEPT is critically important for the future of the oil and gas, and chemicals and mineral production industries," Mr McGowan said.
