On Sunday October 26 to Wednesday October 29 Congress West is hosting the 2003 Parks and Leisure Australia Conference at the Burswood Convention Centre.
The theme for this years conference is Fresh Parks, Fresh Leisure, Fresh Water which is in recognition of the International Year of Fresh Water and the importance of this resource on parks, recreation and tourism activities. The conference has been designed to help attendees wade through the complex issues that the industry is facing today and how they can be managed in the future.
Keynote speakers for the conference include, Rethink director Professor Elery Hamilton-Smith who will talk about Sustainability – Grand Illusion or Practical Strategy?; International Sociology of Sport Association president Professor Joseph Maguire; Department of Sport and Recreation director general Ron Alexander ; and Singapore National Parks Board chief operating officer Dr Chee Chiew (Lawrence) Leong.
Registration for the conference can be made with Congress West for $927 for full registration for members, $1027 for non-member registration, $473 for one day registration or $297 for students.
