The state government has committed $1.6 million in funding over four years to Wheels for Hope, a program that aims to improve the mobility of children with disabilities and their families.
From this year, the program, an initiative of the WA Motor Industry Foundation, will receive $400,000 each year to help boost the capacity to provide vehicles.
The money will be used to support the program, including buying and maintaining 10 vehicles each year for four years.
Wheels for Hope has a fleet of 32 vehicles that it lends to families and provides all maintenance, servicing and insurance. Families have to pay for fuel.
