$120m in new work for Monadelphous

Perth-based Monadelphous Group has received a number of contracts with multiple clients including Fortescue Metals Group, BHP Billiton and Chevron, with the work worth a combined $120 million.

Monadelphous said it had won two new contracts with Fortescue Metals Group. One is a three-year fixed plant maintenance crane services contract at the iron ore giant’s Solomon hub in the Pilbara, and the other a contract to provide abrasive blasting cleaning and relining of up to 900 carbon steel ore wagons for FMG subsidiary The Pilbara Infrastructure.

The company also received a contract with BHP Billiton for upgrades to a water treatment plant at the client’s Iron Ore Mining Area C operation in the north-west.

Also in WA, Monadelphous will provide facilities maintenance services to Chevron at the Wheatstone LNG project near Onslow for an initial 12 months, under an existing agreement with the energy giant.

In NSW, Monadelphous will supply, fabricate, pre-assemble and deliver structural steel, conveyers and plat work with Brolton Group at the Hanson Bass Point quarry expansion project in Shellharbour.

“With the award of these contracts we are continuing to build on key customer relationships and expanding our services to new customers,” managing director Rob Velletri said.

“We are particularly pleased with the award of the new crane services contract which is in line with our strategy of extending our service offering to core markets and we look forward to developing our relationship with Fortescue Metals Group.”

Monadelphous shares were 0.1 per cent higher to $12.67 each at 10am.
