Timothy (Tim) Holmes was a founder of ASX-listed mortgage management firm Homeloans, an early mover in the non-bank home mortgage origination sector driven by the rise of mortgage brokers and the ability to securitise debt as financial services and banking was deregulated. He was chairman for 11 years until he died in 2014 at the age of 67. He had over four decades of experience in the finance and banking industry, was a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and Honorary Consul of Austria in WA. He was also the former International President of the Young President’s Organisation and a former vice president of the WA Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 1985, Mr Holmes and Rob Salmon established International Financing & Investment, and then IF&I Securities in 1990 which became the predecessor to Homeloans.
