Sophie Manera is a partner of Tang Law, heading the migration division. She practices exclusively in immigration law.
Ms Manera represents visa applicants, sponsors and businesses in lodging applications, attending to complex migration matters, making submissions to the Department of Home Affairs, and representing applicants in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, Federal Circuit and Family Court, Federal Court and High Court. Her passion is for arguing cases based on compelling or compassionate circumstances, and she finds it incredibly rewarding to help families stay together in Australia.
Ms Manera is a member of the Migration Institute of Australia’s Western Australia State Committee, and was its former vice president.
She has taught in the Graduate Diploma of Australian Migration Law and Practice at Murdoch University and the Australian Catholic University.
Ms Manera was awarded the Migration Institute of Australia Kevin Lane Service Award in 2018 for contributions to the profession, and the Lawyers Weekly Women in Law Award for Mentor of the Year in 2019.
