Professor Ross Dowling AM OAM is an international speaker and consultant on tourism, providing advice for the industry in a number of countries around the world. He established a Tourism degree for Emirates Airlines, convened an International Tourism and Hospitality Conference in Malaysia, and led an Australian team giving Tourism Industry Development Workshops for the government of Vietnam. Prof Dowling is the foundation professor of tourism & hospitality in the School of Business & Law at Edith Cowan University. He works internationally in the development of travel and tourism especially in the areas of ecotourism, cruise ship tourism and geotourism. In 2011, Prof Dowling was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for his services to the hospitality and tourism industry, education and the development of ecotourism. In 2019, he was named a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to higher education, and to tourism and conservation.
