Peter Watson
Peter Watson was the Australian Labor Party Member of the Legislative Assembly for Albany from 2001 to 2021. Prior to the election of the McGowan Labor government in 2017, Mr Watson was the Shadow Minister for Sport and Recreation, Great Southern and Veterans Issues. Mr Watson retired from politics at the 2021 state elections.

Prior to politics, Mr Watson held various positions at Australia Post, including as postal manager.

In his school years, Mr Watson excelled at the 1500m event and won the Australian titles in 1968 and 1973. He was the third West Australian to break the four-minute mile, and represented Australia at the 1968 Summer Olympics and 1974 Commonwealth Games.
