Peter Quinlan SC joined the Crown Solicitor’s Office in 1993 as professional assistant to the solicitor general, before working as associate to the Hon Justice Parker AO at the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 1995. He returned to the Crown Solicitor’s Office in 1996, working in the areas of constitutional and administrative law, and was later appointed assistant crown counsel. Mr Quinlan has practised as a barrister since 2001. He was appointed as senior counsel at the Supreme Court of Western Australia in December 2010. Mr Quinlan is considered an eminent jurist within Western Australia and extremely well regarded by the legal profession and judiciary, both within and outside of Western Australia. Mr Quinlan obtained a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from The University of Western Australia in 1992 and 1995 respectively. In August 2018, Mr Quinlan was appointed Western Australia’s 14th Chief Justice.
