Peter Mansell was a corporate and resources lawyer with over 35 years' experience. He has been one of WA's busiest directors. 2008-09 was his annus horribilis - dealing with the collapse of Great Southern, Kerry Stokes' boardroom spill at WA Newspapers (now Seven West Media), and the disastrous merger of Zinifex and Oxiana to form OZ Minerals. Mr Mansell was a former chair of Western Power and was managing partner of Freehills' Perth office. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws and Higher Diploma in Tax Law from the University of Witwatersrand. Past roles included being chair of Zinifex, JDV, Alocit International, Great Southern, as well as director of WA Newspapers, Bunnings Property Trust, Foodland, Tethyan Copper, OZ Minerals, Nyrstar.
