Lisa Rodgers has over 15 years of experience within the education sector in Australia and New Zealand. She has led significant reforms in assessment innovation, curriculum, and the use of evidence for impact at the classroom and national level.
Ms Rodgers also held several other substantial posts in justice, health, serving in the British Army, lecturing and leading research in child mental health at the University of Wales, and senior roles in New Zealand’s Ministry of Education.
Ms Rodgers became the director general at the WA Department of Education in January 2019. Prior to that, she was chief executive of the Australian Institute of Teaching and School Leadership; and deputy secretary of early learning & student achievement and deputy secretary of evidence, data & knowledge at the Ministry of Education in New Zealand.
