Chris Salisbury

Chris Salisbury was appointed Rio Tinto's chief executive, iron ore in July 2016, after more than 28 years with experience spanning bauxite, alumina refining, aluminium smelting, coal, port logistics and uranium. Mr Salisbury had been appointed acting chief executive of Rio’s current copper & coal group in March of that year. Prior to that appointment, he was chief operating officer, coal with accountability for coal mines in NSW, Queensland and South Africa.
