Andrew Forrest

Andrew (Twiggy) Forrest is the founder, former chief executive officer and current chairman of Fortescue Metals Group. He was also non-executive chairman of Poseidon Nickel and chairman of the Australian Children’s Trust, a childrens charity he established with his wife, Nicola, in 2001 through the Forrest Family Foundation. That is now under the banner of Minderoo. Mr Forrest was previously CEO and deputy chairman of Anaconda Nickel (now Minara Resources), director of the WA Chamber of Minerals and Energy, chairman of Athletics Australia, chairman of Moly Mines, and chairman of Siberia Mining Corporation. He is a fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Mr Forrest has been awarded the Australian Centenary Medal, Australian Sports Medal, Australian Ernst & Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year, West Australia Citizen of the Year for his contribution to regional development and The Mining Journal’s Mining Lifetime Achievement Award.
