Andrew Arnold was Lynas Rare Earth’s general counsel and company secretary from July 2008 to April 2021, following 15 years as a lawyer at Deacons including six years as a partner.
During his time at Deacons, Mr Arnold spent two years on secondment at Riddell Williams in Seattle and oversaw the legal work for Lynas since 2001. Mr Arnold has practised law in Victoria, New South Wales and Washington State, USA. He worked in areas including equity capital markets, corporations law, mergers and acquisitions. As well as advising on acquisitions and disposals of public and private companies and businesses, Mr Arnold instructed US and Australian corporations on the establishment of new business units in overseas jurisdictions.
Mr Arnold holds a Bachelor of Law (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and has undertaken postgraduate studies with the Securities Institute of Australia and the University of Sydney. He has also tutored contract law and economics at Trinity College, University of Melbourne.
