Alan Tribe owned Cebas, the franchisee for the Swedish furniture retailer IKEA in South Australia and Western Australia. A migrant from the UK, Mr Tribe took over the IKEA outlet on Scarborough Beach Road with partner Stephen Curtis in 1990s. Mr Curtis left the business in 2004 after they opened an Adelaide store . In 2008 IKEA Perth opened a new 27,000-square-metre store in Innaloo, the largest IKEA outlet in the southern hemisphere at the time. It is understood Mr Tribe sold Cebas to IKEA Australia in early 2017. The freeholds on the IKEA Perth and Adelaide stores' land were held by his company Lex Property Fund, but it has been reported that IKEA was in the process of acquiring those as well. Mr Tribe also owns Jasons Windows. As of January 2020 Mr Tribe's private investment vehicles included Delarge Investments Pty Ltd (wholly owned) and Australian Land Pty Ltd (50:50 ownership with his wife Marisa Tribe).
