Duke and Hilde Ranson planted the first vine in 1999, with first vintage in 2001, which resulted in a gold medal, the first of many awards including the Best in Show Trophy at the Sydney Royal Wine Show 2006. Since 2013 it has been in Halliday's top 100, and its 2017 Magpie Hill Reserve Riesling won Halliday's 2019 wine of the year
