Belvino Investments is part of Li Ka-shing’s CK Hutchison Holdings. Belvino has acquired several Western Australian vineyard assets, though it is understood to lease these vineyards to other major wine players in the state rather than produce wine itself. These acquisitions were part of a wider strategic agribusiness play by CK Life Sciences Int’l (Holdings) Inc, part of the CK Hutchison group.
Belvino entered the Australian market in 2011 when Belvino's parent took control of about 70 per cent of Challenger Wine Trust for $46 million and privatised the entity.
