Balcatta-based internet service provider Pentanet has launched GeForce NOW, a cloud-gaming platform aiming to provide high-end gaming services to digital devices. 

Internet service provider Pentanet has partnered with NASDAQ-listed NVIDIA, a producer of graphic chips for gaming, to launch GeForce in Australia.

Prior to the launch of GeForce, telco company Pentanet commenced the beta play program in September to test its gaming services across 174,000 sessions.

Pentanet managing director Stephen Cornish said the commercial launch of GeForce Now would open up new market opportunities for the company.

“We are firmly convinced that cloud gaming will be a major entertainment subscription product in Australia, and we are proud to bring this service to gamers in the region as NVIDIA’s first alliance partner,” he said.

Today's launch comes at the same time as Pentanet has published its annual report, which the company having increased revenue by $11 million.

Pentanet listed on the ASX earlier this year after completing a $22.5 million initial public offering. 

The company’s shares were trading at 70 cents at 1:30pm AEDT.
