Diversified education group Navitas has entered a deal with Scotland's Napier University to establish the Edinburgh International College.
The company said the executive group of the university has formally approved the establishment, subject to negotiation of a formal agreement and development of a business plan.
"Navitas will commence discussions with the University to execute a recognition and educational services agreement, which will set out the co-operative arrangement under which the Edinburgh International College will operate," Navitas said.
The Mt Pleasant-based company recently opened a new campus in Singapore with Curtin University and plans to establish colleges in Canada and the United Kingdom.
The company already has a presence in Sri Lanka, India and China and has campuses in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.
