NRW, Tempo secure contracts

Two local contractors have secured more than $70 million of work, with NRW Holdings locking in a $37 million contract at Rio Tinto’s Marandoo mine in the Pilbara.

Under the contract, NRW will complete earthworks and civil works for the waste storage facility at the site.

Work is expected to start in April and run for about 44 weeks, with up to 100 workers required for the project.

Shares in NRW finished up 1 per cent at $1.70.

Meanwhile, Tempo Australia announced it has secured contracts totalling $11 million, with binding letters of intent for $23 million worth of solar works in Victoria.

Within the $11 million of work, Tempo has been contracted to provide electrical maintenance for the City of Vincent, along with a series of master service agreements for telecommunications maintenance.

Tempo managing director Max Bergomi said the recent contracts were an encouraging sign for the company.

“We are pleased to be continuing to broaden our client base and provide new and existing clients with the advantage and efficiencies that result from planning and dispatching services from our National Operations Centre in Sydney,” he said.

Tempo has also recently received two binding letters of intent totalling $23 million from a leading international power company to supply and install a high-voltage substation for a 100-megawatt solar farm, and an engineering and construction contract for a 35MW solar farm.

Shares in Tempo jumped 10 per cent to finish at 21.5 cents each.
