Monadelphous wins $220m in new work

Perth-based Monadelphous Group has won a suite of new contracts and extensions for maintenance and construction work around Australia and internationally, to the tune of $220 million.

Monadelphous told the market today it had won a two-year contract to supply fixed plant maintenance services at Rio Tinto’s coastal and some of its inland operations in the Pilbara.

The contract builds on an existing package of work for the mining giant.

Monadelphous also received a 12-month extension to its maintenance contract at the Woodside Petroleum-operated Karratha gas plant life extension program, through its joint venture with Giovenco Industries.

The extension work covers the delivery of mechanical, electrical, access, coatings and insulation services.

Monadelphous also received two new construction contracts, with the first being an electrical and instrumentation construction contract on surface facilities at Rio’s Oyu Tolgoi underground copper project in Mongolia.

The contract builds on another contract for work at the copper operation in July.

Monadelphous also received an order from Santos for the supply and fabrication of wellhead skids, as part of Santos’ upstream coal seam gas development in northern Queensland.

“We are pleased to have been awarded new and extended contracts with a number of existing customers, which reflects our focus on building and maintaining long term customer relationships through continuous improvement in service delivery,” Monadelphous managing director Rob Velletri said.
