Perth-based engineering and construction company Monadelphous today announced new contracts worth $130 million.

Perth-based engineering and construction company Monadelphous Group today announced new contracts worth $130 million.

The contracts include deal to provide labour services at the Worsley Alumina plant in Collie for South32 Worsley Alumina over the next three years, with a possible one-year extension.

There is also a contract for the design and construction of a 40-kilometre piped irrigation scheme in New Zealand for a joint venture of Barrhill Chertsey Irrigation and Electricity Ashburton.

The three other contracts announced are all for work in Queensland.

The first of these was a three-year contract for project, maintenance and shutdown works for Queensland Alumina in Gladstone.

The company also announced a contract to perform maintenance works associated with a dragline shutdown at BHP-Mitsubishi joint venture BM Alliance Coal Operations’ Blackwater mine.

Monadelphous’s Chinese fabrication business, Sinostruct, has been awarded a three-year contract, with up to two one-year extensions for the fabrication and supply of wellhead separator skids for Australia Pacific LNG’s operations in the Surat Basin.

At 11am Perth time, Monadelphous shares were down by just over 1 per cent to $8.60 a share.
