A company backed by former West Coast Eagle Matt Priddis has swooped on a 350-hectare farm near Albany for $7.4 million.
The Manypeaks farm was purchased by D & D Farming in February from the Albany-based Armstrong family.
Mr Priddis and his colleague at Australian Agri Finance, Shane Smith, are listed as directors and shareholders of the company.
Manypeaks is about 20km east of Albany on the south coast.
D & D Farming has acquired nearly 4,000ha of farmland near Albany and Kulin since 2021, at a price of about $19m, according to Cotality data.
In Manypeaks the company holds about 500ha, with a neighbouring farm to the recent acquisition purchased last year for $2.7m.
Mr Priddis and Mr Smith’s purchase is among the biggest farm deals for the year to date.
The Stewart family’s $10.2m purchase of a 1,100ha farm north-east of Esperance tops the list of sales where the price and buyer are known.
Two other purchases in the Esperance region totaling about 1,500ha went for more than $9m.
Some 75km east of Albany, the Diprose family splashed $8.3m on a 1,145ha farm in Wellstead.
The sale of the 183,000ha Country Downs Station near Broome in March is expected to comfortably clear $15m, however, a price and buyer have not yet been revealed.

Major transaction
An 11,200ha aggregation on the south coast has been sold and split in three in recent weeks.
All of the buyers and prices have not yet been listed however it is rumoured to have gone for more than $52m.
The Mudie family picked up about 3,000ha for $22m in October last year, bringing their landholdings up to about 9,000ha according to Cotality data.
A further 1,500ha went to Kellerberrin-based Cardonia Farms’ David Leake for $15.4m.
The aggregation’s third buyer is not yet known.
A warehouse in Denmark which formed part of the sale went to local businessman Murray Thornton for $1.2m
Part of the aggregation was withdrawn from sale to be leased out instead.
