As the end of the financial year approaches, many Western Australians are considering where they can make a meaningful charitable contribution before 30 June. Tomorrow, Anglicare WA is offering an opportunity for donors to maximise their impact while supporting some of the state's most vulnerable people.
On Wednesday 3 June, Anglicare WA will hold its annual Giving Day, with every donation matched dollar-for-dollar up to $150,000 thanks to the support of the Anglican Community Fund and a group of generous private donors.
The matched giving initiative means every contribution will go twice as far, making Giving Day one of the most effective opportunities for individuals and businesses looking to make an end-of-financial-year donation that delivers immediate community benefit.
The campaign comes at a time when many Western Australians continue to feel the effects of rising living costs, housing pressures and financial uncertainty.
According to Anglicare WA Chief Executive Officer Mark Glasson, demand for support services remains high, with increasing numbers of people seeking assistance to navigate financial hardship.
"Many Western Australians are facing difficult circumstances and turning to services such as emergency relief and financial counselling for support," Mr Glasson said.
"Giving Day allows the community to make a real difference, knowing their donation will be doubled and help us support more people when they need it most."
This year's Giving Day also coincides with a significant milestone for the organisation, which is celebrating 50 years of supporting Western Australians through times of crisis and hardship.
Over the past five decades, Anglicare WA has provided practical support, counselling, advocacy and community services across the state, helping individuals and families facing homelessness, domestic and family violence, financial stress and mental health challenges.
Funds raised through Giving Day will directly support Anglicare WA's Emergency Relief and Financial Counselling programs, ensuring vulnerable Western Australians can access practical assistance throughout the winter months.
For businesses considering their corporate giving initiatives before EOFY, the campaign offers an opportunity to amplify the impact of every dollar donated while supporting a trusted Western Australian organisation with a long history of community service.
The Anglican Community Fund, itself celebrating 60 years of service this year, has partnered with Anglicare WA to help maximise community impact through the matched funding campaign.
As EOFY planning gets underway for businesses and individuals alike, Anglicare WA is encouraging the community to act quickly, with matched donations available until the $150,000 target is reached.
At a time when many people are doing it tough, tomorrow's Giving Day serves as a reminder that a single act of generosity can have twice the impact.
For donors looking to make a meaningful contribution before the end of the financial year, there may be no better time to give
