Andrew Forrest’s $10.5 million plan to build multiple dwellings in Cottesloe is progressing through the planning process, as more details emerge on the project.
A plan to build eight dwellings and a private garden at 6 and 8 Salvado Street was lodged with the Metro Inner Development Assessment Panel earlier this year.
More details of the project have emerged this week, as it comes closer to being decided.
Planning officers at the Town of Cottesloe have thrown their support behind the project, recommending the DAP approve it at its meeting next week.
Business News revealed in May that Mr Forrest purchased the properties, which contain six apartments each, for $19.8 million.
The apartments were built in the 1960s and will be demolished to make way for the development.
The proposal, lodged by SLR Consulting and designed by KHA Studio, comprises four ground floor apartments and four upper floor apartments.
Each floor will contain a one bedroom, two two bedroom and one three-bedroom dwellings.
The private garden will include a raised section containing outdoor cooking facilities and a bathroom.
The buildings are within metres of the heritage-listed home Le Fanu, which Andrew Forrest purchased in 2022 for $15.6 million and has undergone extensive redevelopment.
The state’s richest man also owns 66 Marine Parade, which sits on 727sqm, and two townhouses at 4 Salvado Street.
The project is set to be decided on August 26.
