Canadian campus deal off for Navitas

Success in attracting students has prompted a Canadian university to call off a deal with Navitas for the establishment of McMaster University College.

The announcement is below:

Further to its ASX release dated 20 March 2008, Navitas Limited (ASX: NVT) and McMaster University in Canada today announced that McMaster will not proceed at this stage with the execution of the agreement to establish McMaster University College.

McMaster's success in attracting students, and pressures on classrooms and facilities to accommodate the domestic enrolment at the University has significantly changed the University's ability to pursue the new venture.

McMaster University regrets that high demand for its programs means that it can no longer accommodate the proposed Navitas college.

McMaster University Associate Vice- President (Academic) Peter Smith said, "We are very disappointed that we are unable to proceed with Navitas to set up McMaster University College at this time. We were impressed with Navitas and its commitment to quality and student success."
