AVZ Minerals has appointed Dr Casta Tungaraza as non-executive director, and Serge Ngandu as executive director. Dr Tungaraza has over 40 years of domestic & international industry experience, and has managed multiple projects within the public, private & not-for-profit sectors in Australia & Africa. Mr Ngandu has over 40 years of experience in the mining industry, and across various African countries where he has been involved in delivering major mining projects. He is the director of corporate affairs at Dathcom Mining SA, a subsidiary of AVZ. The appointments come as the company aims to start development of its long awaited Manono Lithium and Tin project in the southern Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa.
Bellavista Resources has appointed Nicolle Fleming as joint company secretary. Ms Fleming, a corporate advisor at boutique corporate services business Belltree Corporate, specialises in corporate governance, risk and business operations.
Cash Converters International has appointed Mark Ashby as an independent non-executive director. Mr Ashby is an executive, board member and board advisor with over 30 years of corporate finance, corporate strategy and CFO experience within listed and private companies in Australia and the USA.
DRA Global has appointed current executive vice president for Asia Pacific Darren Naylor as an executive director. Mr Naylor is an executive with over 25 years of experience across various industrial sectors, including over 15 years within the engineering, mining and metals industry across Africa and Australia. He has been with the company since January 2020.
Dr Oliver Kreuzer has resigned as non-executive director of Eclipse Metals.
Mohammad Ali Shah has resigned as chief executive of I Synergy Group. Mr Shah was appointed to the role in February this year, and is departing to focus on other priorities. Current executive chair Dato’ Lawrence Teo will assume CEO responsibilities in the interim.
Nick Selby has been formally appointed chief executive and managing director of Lucapa Diamond Company. Mr Selby has been with the company since October 2014, and was appointed to an interim CEO role in August 2023.
Novo Resources has appointed Greg Jones as an independent non-executive director, following the resignation of Amy Stefonick who has been on the board since June 2021. Mr Jones is a mineral geologist with over 40 years of exploration and operational experience within Australia and overseas.
Patriot Lithium has restructured its board as it focuses on further exploring and developing new lithium exploration projects in North America. It has appointed Hugh Warner as non-executive chair and Chris Hilbrands as joint company secretary; former chair Phil Thick will remain a non-executive director; with founding executive director Matthew Gauci, founding technical director Dr Oliver Kreuzer, and non-executive director & joint company secretary Matthew Worner retiring from the board. Mr Warner has broad experience as a public company director and has operated in many jurisdictions. Mr Hilbrands is a Chartered Accountant and was chief financial officer for several resources-focused public companies listed on the ASX and AIM.
Andrew Muir will become managing director of Sipa Resources on 12 October, succeeding Pip Darvall who is stepping down after leading the company for 4 years. Mr Muir is a resource company executive with approximately 30 years of experience within the mining and finance industries. He has a strong background in gold exploration and geology, as well as deep project evaluation and corporate experience across exploration and mining operations.
