Dinner Twist is a local and clean alternative that delivers a box of fresh ingredients and recipes weekly.

ALL IN: Chris and My Tistrand have “invested everything” in Dinner Twist.

Dinner Twist ~ Many of us struggle to keep dinners interesting as well as healthy. With the growing awareness of the value of home cooking, Dinner Twist is a local and clean alternative that delivers a box of fresh ingredients and recipes weekly. It’s also aimed at the time poor, who want to try new ideas rather the “same old boring meals”.

Who made it ~ My and Chris Tistrand. My is the cook and ideas person, Chris is the business manager. Emigrating from Sweden in 2009 (where home delivery recipe boxes are popular), the couple launched the service in WA in 2012.

Technology ~ The use of e-commerce, online payments, sophisticated databases and logistics (including iPads for couriers) allows the service to be competitive.

Quotation ~ “Breaking into the low margin and highly competitive food industry was a challenge, so we concentrated on clever use of technology to reduce costs and increase customer control. It's about time the people of Perth have a quality option to the main supermarkets – dinner convenience with a twist." -Chris Tistrand

$ ~ The Tistrands have “invested everything” in Dinner Twist and after three intense years are starting to see a return. They have built a recipe database in the thousands and have many hundreds of Perth families now inviting them to dinner every week.

Market size ~ The company is looking to take the service interstate, but is in no rush. In northern Europe, this concept has disrupted the industry and main food chains have had to jump on the band wagon.

Dinner Twist launched in March 2012, and is ranked #54 in BNiQ Startup list
