40under40 Awards

The 2022 40under40 Awards is Western Australia’s pre-eminent program that recognizes and celebrates the state’s leading entrepreneurs, innovators, and future business leaders under the age of 40.

The awards recognize not only personal determination, commercial drive and business success but also acknowledges philanthropic and community contributions.

Each year, one exceptional individual is selected from the 40 winners as the First Amongst Equals.

The awards not only identify Western Australia's top 40 young business achievers, but also singles out those who excel in the below categories:

  • Small or Start-up Business (1-20 FTE staff)
  • Medium sized Business (21-100 FTE staff)
  • Large sized Business (+100 FTE staff)
  • Family Business
  • Indigenous Business
  • Intrapreneur
  • Professional Services
  • Community, Social Enterprise, or Not for Profit

All entrants are also in the running for the People's Choice Award. The winner is determined by the public, who can view entrant profiles and vote for their favorite candidate online. Voting opens in January – stay tuned!

Why Enter?

The awards are open to Western Australian business owners and executives who are under the age of 40, as of 31 December 2021.

Business News encourages you to nurture and grow the entrepreneurial spirit in our state and nominate outstanding young business leaders that may be your colleagues, clients or suppliers, family or friends, to be considered for the 40under40 Awards.

We also encourage entrants to self-nominate and share their career journey – the setbacks, the successes, the plans.

Entrants are encouraged from all industries and fields of endeavor.

Rewarding achievement

Each category winner receives money can’t buy editorial coverage and publicity giving you and your business visibility and profile. As a member of the Alumni, you will receive access and connections to other exceptional business leaders.

With thanks to the Australian Institute of Management Western Australia, each 40under40 winner will receive a $1000 voucher to access AIM WA training courses. All winners will also have the opportunity to attend group training by ThinkBox Media, to help develop and deliver key messages with confidence.

The First Amongst Equals winner receives a “40under40 First Amongst Equals” trophy, along with a $5000 voucher for AIM WA training courses and a customised one on one media training session with ThinkBox Media, to help maximise every opportunity and control every crisis.
