Vonex has launched its new Vonex Phone app that brings its cloud-based PABX system to the smartphone and computer desktops, allowing users to be connected to their business phone system from anywhere in the world. The company will generate revenue through a range of subscription plans with phone calls paid on a per minute or per call basis or a recurring monthly subscription which includes unlimited phone calls.
The free software provides full access to all the features of a PABX telephone exchange system, allowing users to be connected to their business phone systems from anywhere in the world via WiFi or mobile data.
Vonex Phone is underpinned by NASDAQ listed Canadian global communications software solutions provider CounterPath’s Bria software and represents the first initiative under Vonex’s joint marketing and distribution agreement with CounterPath.
In August, Vonex said that its partnership with CounterPath will open up opportunities to work with enterprise clients and channel customers.
Managing Director Matt Fahey said: “The Vonex Phone app … enables true mobility of the landline number and demonstrates one of the many upgrades that allow for a move away from traditional telephone networks to a cloud-based phone system.”
“We expect this to be a popular, easy-to-use product which will generate additional revenue from existing users as an extra subscription, and from new customers who require desktop and mobile solutions for their phone system.”
Each Vonex Phone license key will enable users to use the app on two separate devices simultaneously.
The company will generate revenue from the app through a range of subscription plans, where users can pay for phone calls on a per minute or per call basis, or via a recurring monthly subscription which includes unlimited phone calls.
When sold through the company’s wholesale division, the Vonex Phone app will generate additional wholesale PABX registration fees for each device that is registered to the platform.
Vonex’s new mobile based PABX system is a significant development for the small cap ASX listed company and one that will allow business owners to operate their business from their top pocket – quite novel really.
