Bellevue Gold continues to churn out the high-grade gold hits beneath its historical namesake mine near Leinster, WA, with diamond drilling outside the current resource area returning a 4.4-metre intercept grading more than two ounces to the tonne gold in the new Deacon Lode.
Management said the 4.4 m @ 62.4 g/t gold intersection from 692m down-hole is one of the best intercepts drilled to date at the project and is associated with semi-massive pyrrhotite, trace chalcopyrite and visible gold mineralisation.
Drilling has now extended the Deacon Lode to a strike length of 1,400m that remains open in all directions.
The company has also intersected high-grade gold of up to 1.1m @ 75.3g/t gold from 654.6m at the newly discovered Mavis Lode that runs parallel to the Deacon Lode.
Bellevue is continuing to carry out drilling of the Deacon and Mavis Lodes with three rigs whilst another three rigs have started drilling infill holes on shallow areas to upgrade confidence in the mineral resources.
It also has several high tenor down-hole electromagnetic conductors that are ready for drill testing.
Managing Director Steve Parsons said: “These recent high-grade drill results & DHEM conductors confirm the presence of very high-grade gold mineralised shoots within the Deacon Lode analogous to the historic Bellevue mine and our Viago discovery.”
“It is important to note, the current drilling is on very broad centres and the results received for the initial few holes over the 1,400 metres of strike have comparable intersections and scale to the adjacent Bellevue Lode that was mined from 1986 to 1997 and produced 800,000oz of gold at 15g/t.”
The Bellevue gold project has a current inferred mineral resource of 5 million tonnes grading 11.1g/t gold for 1.8 million ounces of contained gold.
This resource lies adjacent to a historical mining operation that produced 0.8 million ounces at 15g/t gold up until its closure in 1997.
