WA Leadership Convention: Global Influences and Engagement

The Australian Public Service Commission is holding a two-day public sector leadership convention on ‘Australia’s engagement with a changing world’, July 24 and 25 at the Burswood Resort Entertainment Complex. Guest speakers for the event include: •Dr Peter Shergold - secretary of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet; •Michael Carmody – CEO, Australian Customs Service; •Jeff Lamond – Office of the Merit Protection Commissioner; •John Clegg – CEO, National Offshore Petroleum Safety Authority (NOPSA); •Carmel McGregor – deputy secretary, Dept of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs; •Jim Mitchell – CEO, Synergy; •Wayne Martin – WA Chief Justice; •Kerry O’Brien – ABC journalist, 7.30 Report; •Dr Keith Suter – social commentator; •Li Cunxin – author of the best selling autobiography, Mao’s Last Dancer; •Daryl Dixon – executive chairman, Dixon Advisory & Superannuation Services Pty Ltd; •Jane Lye – senior lawyer, AGS; •Rev Tim Costello – CEO, World Vision Australia; •Julie Bishop – Minister for Education, Science and Training (not confirmed); and •Murray Jorgensen – principal of a management and business consultancy firm and chairman of the Forest Products Commission.
