Nido Petroleum completes board restructure

A board restructure by Como-based Nido Petroleum Ltd has seen managing director David Whitby promoted to the position of company chairman, replacing Gregor Dixon.

Jocot de Dios, president and country head of Nido's Philippines subsidiary, has been elevated to the role of president and chief executive of Nido Petroleum, replacing Mr Whitby.

Mr de Dios, who will be relocating to Perth, is the former deputy minister of the Philippine Department of Energy and chairman of the board of the Philippine National Oil Company Exploration Corporation.

Another new face on the board is William Bloking, the former president, Australia/Asia Gas, for BHP Billiton Petroleum.

Vince Perez, a former energy minister of the Philippines and James Brown, a former first vice president and head of Merrill Lynch Energy Research Group, round out the members of the board who will be responsible for driving Nido's strategic plan.

Nido's leadership team comprises deputy managing director Joanne Williams, head of exploration Jon Pattillo, head of commercial Andrew Francis, and chief financial officer Ashley Gilbert.

Outgoing chairman Mr Dixon said he was confident that in retiring back to the UK, he was leaving Nido in the best hands to continue the success of the company.
