Major award for ASF

MALAGA-BASED Associated Shopfitters has won a national award for its fit-out of McDonald’s restaurant in Tuart Hill as part of a $1.2 million upgrade to the store. ASF won best interior fit-out in the food/restaurants up to $250,000 category and a ‘best use of sponsors product’ award in the recent Australian Shop and Office Fitting Industry Association awards in Port Douglas. ASF managing director Greg Abbott said his family-owned and operated business had been responsible for the interior fit-outs in most McDonald’s restaurants in Western Australia since 1985. “Manager Warren Ewing and I were heavily involved in the original fit-out at Tuart Hill [1990], so it’s very rewarding to play a role in its ongoing evolution,” Mr Abbott said. McDonald’s Tuart Hill franchisee Terry Krysyna said in a statement the redevelopment was one of the most expensive and ambitious projects at a McDonald’s restaurant in 10 years, and the company had a challenging task working while the restaurant was operational. “The new fit-out brings a modern, sophisticated look to the restaurant and includes an outdoor terrace, buffet seating, wood panelling and a vibrant new colour scheme,” he said.
