There are ten LEGO stores in Australia and New Zealand.

Perth’s first LEGO store is opening later this year as part of Karrinyup Shopping Centre's $800 million redevelopment.

The store is being developed by Sydney-based retail investor Alquemie Group and The LEGO Group.

It will be custom-built and include multi-sensory brick-built features, which draw inspiration from local landmarks.

Alquemie Group already has 10 stores in Australia and New Zealand including two in Sydney and three in Melbourne.

A spokesperson for the group said LEGO hoped to have up to three stores in Perth and 25 to 30 stores across Australia and New Zealand over the next few years.

Alquemie Group executive chair Richard Facioni said the store would bring a different retail concept to WA.

“The new store will be a destination in its own right for brick fans of all ages who we believe will respond positively to the creativity and imagination that are the hallmarks of LEGO certified stores," he said.

Other international brands to open stores in the centre include Spanish clothing retailer Zara and French makeup store Sephora.

The redevelopment of Karrinyup Shopping Centre, led by Multiplex and managed by AMP Capital, will be completed in late 2021.
