It's Open House time again

DESIGN and architecture tour Open House Perth returns for a second season in the first week of November after a successful inaugural event last year.

The Open House model is a celebration of built environments, including architecture, public art and urban design and provides a behind-the-scenes look at the most interesting or prominent environments in a city.

This year’s Open House Perth offers people the chance to view 70 buildings and spaces, from heritage-listed buildings to contemporary constructions.

Among the destinations is BHP Billiton building Brookfield Place, Perth Concert Hall and Council House.

There will be interactive activities at selected locations, including a selection of pop-up cubby houses in the Perth Cultural Centre that people can decorate.

The concept of Open House began in London in 1992 and takes place in cities such as New York, Barcelona and Rome. Perth is one of the more recent cities to join the network.
