Fiona Harris has returned to the board of Oil Search about one year after stepping down from two major board positions because of health issues.

Ms Harris previously served as a non-executive director at Oil Search for two years, before stepping down last year to seek treatment for an undisclosed health issue.

She also stepped down as chair of uranium miner Toro Energy last year after spending just seven months in the role.

Ms Harris will re-join Oil Search as a director, effective from the end of the year when existing board member Ziggy Switkowski retires.

“We are delighted that Fiona is able to renew her association with Oil Search,” chairman Rick Lee said.

“As demonstrated during her prior term as a director, Fiona’s financial expertise and strong background in corporate governance will be of great benefit to the company as we focus on the next stage of growth.”

Ms Harris retained her non-executive board roles at BWP Trust, Perron Group and Barrington Consulting Group while treating her health issue.

Toro also announced Bart Philemon would retire as a director at the end of the month, and will be replaced by Mel Togolo.

Oil Search shares were 2.6 per cent lower to $6.58 each at the close of trade.
