FMG in Complete deal

MALAGA-BASED Complete Site Services is set to become Western Australia's newest player in the transportable mining accommodation sector, having being awarded a $65 million contract to supply and install a camp for 801 workers at Fortescue Metals Group's Heng Shan project at Christmas Creek, near Newman.

The contract, which may be extended to supply rooms for 1,202 workers over the next 12 months, is the largest accommodation contract Complete has won to date.

The company has also secured a $2.5 million contract to design and install four buildings at the FMG site, to be used for training, communications and administration.

Complete Group managing director Emanuel Dillon said the company's strategy was to target two contracts of a similar size to the FMG one each year.

"We're three years into a five-year business plan, which we'll probably meet a bit early," Mr Dillon said.

Complete Site Services will manufacture its three-room accommodation modules - comprised of a steel stud frame and concrete floor - at a facility in Naval Base, near Henderson.

It will offer a range of services, from construct and delivery to design and installation, for mining clients.

The first stage of the FMG project is due for completion at the end of the year.

Mr Dillon said the company was currently tendering for several other mining contracts, having recently completed an administration and mining operations centre for BHP Billiton Nickel West.

The establishment of Complete Site Services is a departure from the Complete Group's core business in scaffold and portable amenities hire, although the company's future growth is expected to come from the transportable building sector.

It has also become a supplier of hoists in WA through its wholly owned Sydney-based subsidiary, Walco Hoists, which recently set up a Perth office.

Complete's transportable building and hoist divisions will continue to supply the events industry, as well as the mining and construction sectors.
