Perth-based transport company CTI Xpress has lodged plans to build a $15 million depot and office building in Perth’s east, a proposal which has received the support of the City of Swan.

The development application, lodged by Wembley-based Modus Design on behalf of the CTI Logistics subsidiary, proposes the construction of two 20,000 square-metre depot buildings, a truck washing facility, container storage and a two-storey office building in Hazelmere.

The facility is set to be built across two lots on Lakes Road with a combined area of 59,457 square metres and will accommodate a fleet of trucks and trailers bound for regional Western Australia.

According to CTI’s development application, the site would be home to 60 of the company’s staff members.

The City of Swan has backed the proposal, recommending the Metro Outer Joint Development Assessment Panel approve the application when it meets next week.

CTI Logistics already operates a warehouse in Hazlemere’s industrial district, with three lots comprising 154,000 square metres of land.
