Rob Bransby has announced he will no longer leave his post as managing director of the state’s largest health insurer to become chief executive of Perth Racing.

Mr Bransby will instead continue in his role at Perth-based HBF as the health insurer continues to work with the federal government on the progression of potential national healthcare reforms.

He has served as managing director of HBF for 10 years.

Mr Bransby was due to begin work in his new post in June after announcing the shift in late October last year, however the board of HBF asked that he reconsider the move.

“Whilst we are disappointed by the news that Mr Bransby is not joining our organisation as first intended, we are supportive of his decision,” Perth Racing said in a statement.

“Although Mr Bransby won’t be taking up the role of CEO at Perth Racing, he will be actively part of our business by consulting to us on our Strategic Assets platform in a volunteer capacity.”

Julian Sullivan will remain as chief executive of Perth Racing, a role vacated by Stephen Wicks in 2014.
